Faith

Ever wondered how we receive faith. Some will tell us that it is received though a miraculous gift from God and there is nothing we can do to either get it or prevent it happening. In many ways this is an attractive doctrine, but unfortunately it is not what we read in God’ Holy Word – the Bible.
So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of God. Romans. 10:17
You see having faith is an easy thing, we just have to hear the word of God. Some might think that this is all too easy and that there must more that has to be done, but that is not what we read in the Bible. Notice the whole passage in its context.
How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? How will they preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written, “HOW BEAUTIFUL ARE THE FEET OF THOSE WHO BRING GOOD NEWS OF GOOD THINGS!” However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says, “LORD, WHO HAS BELIEVED OUR REPORT?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ. Romans 10:17-17
Our faith comes from the word that God has given us – the Bible.
