Homosexuality

You may have noticed there has been a great deal of debate in various denominations concerning homosexuality recently. Some people say one thing, and others disagree. The debate goes on, but strangely there is very little concern about what God says about the matter.

In 2 Timothy 3:16-17 we read, “All scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.” This tells us a number of things including the fact that God has given us scripture – inspired literally means “breathed” - scripture is “God breathed”. God speaks to us through scripture.

We are also told in this passage that scripture – the Bible will equip us for every good work. We don’t need to go beyond the Bible to know what good works are and how to do them. We don’t need to go passed the Bible to know how to be pleasing to God.

Many today do go passed the Bible. They attempt to use their own wisdom to decide what God thinks when he has already told us. Canon Gene Robinson, the openly Homosexual priest who was recently confirmed as the Bishop of New Hampshire in the United States, was reported as stating, “God wants gay priests in the Church of England”. This obviously does not come from the Bible. This man presumes to speak for God.

The issue of homosexuality is one that evokes a great deal of emotion. If a person is to call homosexuality a sin they are labeled as being narrow minded and homophobic. It is said they lack love. This cannot be further form the truth. It is because of love that sin is pointed out!

Just like any other sin, homosexuality will not be tolerated by God. Notice,
“For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire towards one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own person the due penalty of their error” Romans 1:26-27.
Also,
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God’ 1 Cor. 6:9-10.
God has already spoken on this matter. People are just fooling themselves when they think that they can decide what is a sin or not. We need to listen to God – read His word and obey the lesson found therein.

Yes, I agree with this completely. People deceive themselves into believing that it's all right to do this.
