What will be the signs of your coming?

In Matthew 24 Jesus' disciples asked him 3 questions.

1) When will these things happen?
2) What will be the signs of your coming?
3) (What will be the signs) the end of the age?

Jesus answered two of those question in the first half of the chapter.  He said of these things
“Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things take place." Matt. 24:34
The destruction of Jerusalem and the end of the Jewish age would happen in the lifetime of some of those hearing the Lord's words.  These things came to pass in AD 70 when the Roman general Titus laid siege on Jerusalem and raised it to the ground.

Two of the defining aspects of  these things were that there would be, a) signs that would proceed them, and b) there was a time that was given.  For His answer to the 3rd question, Jesus gives neither sings or times.

Jesus said that no one knows the time when He is coming.  He said that He would be coming like a thief in the night.  He tells us we need to be ready, Jesus is coming at an hour we do not expect Him.

So what does that mean to us today?  It means that we have to live everyday as if it were our last. We have to live expecting the Lord to come.  It means that we have be faithful and live obedient lives to God.
