The faith that saves

Martin Luther, in the early 16th century taught that "faith alone saves" (Luther, Martin. "The Smalcald Articles," ) but that is not what the Lord taught.  many today teach the same as Luther taught, but that is not what we read in the Bible.

The only time that we read of "faith alone in the Bible is in the negative.

 "You see that a man is justified by works and not by faith alone." James 2:24

We are not saved by faith alone, we need to have an obedient faith.  we need to have a faith that is combined with the Works that God has asked us to do.

Our works do not save us, but our obedient faith does. (Rom 1:5, 16:26)
