Wednesday 13th May
Today was the day we planned to go and see Allen’s parents at their village. It is about an hours journey from Arusha, going down Mount Maru and then back up to the foot hills of Mt. Kilimanjaro. It is a very nice drive and this timeof year it is all very green with the wet season. We were very warmly welcomes by Allen’s parents. They treated us wonderfully to a terrific meal and showed us around their farm. It was a very good break for us, as both Anne and I have been working very hard and we had been getting pretty tired. As Allen’s father said, “a break is as good as a holiday.” On the way home we had a study with one of Allen’s friends and made it back to Arusha just on dark.
